This film is considered one of Jim’s faith-based endeavors
(“faith-based” is a term Jim has said he hates for his films 🫤). The story and character are
fictional, but the general story is based on an amalgamation of several true event experiences by
persons imprisoned in Iran for expressing their Christian beliefs.
It is an excellent film and Jim – as usual – is wonderful. Some will like it, and some will not.
Personally, it isn’t one of my favorites due to the violence against Jim’s character 😣. I found
that part hard to watch 🥺 – took me three days to get through it. I don’t dispute that the violence
is valid and accurate. I just find it hard to watch.🤷♀️ However, it is an excellent thriller and I
do recommend it especially if you aren’t as squeamish as myself.
